6 Steps to Become Rich and Prosperous: Use Desire to Slake Your Thirst For Riches

Desire is the first of author Napoleon Hill's thirteen steps to becoming rich in Think and Grow Rich. It is all based on one underlying principle that we know today as the law of attraction, just like the movie The Secret.   As I progress through the book and gain an in-depth understanding of each chapter, I will share it. 

This is not a book that can be read through like a manual, although it is one. It's contents must be fully grasped and intuitively understood in order to apply any one of the ideas that would set you on your path to attaining the unlimited prosperity and abundance that you deserve.






You must desire riches until it becomes an obsession, then plan how you're going to get it. Persistence and an unshakeable faith that does not recognise failure is essential!

Hill outlines the six steps to become rich and prosperous.

1. Decide the exact amount of money you want and hold it in your mind. It is not good enough to say a lot of money - that's useless. It must be specific for your subconscious to translate your need into the physical reality by the most direct means.
2. Specify exactly what you intend to give in return to get the money you desire. You cannot get something for nothing. (When I read this, I decided it would be 100 percent of my time;)
3. Set a definite date by which you intend to have the amount of money you want. (Believe it or not, a date comes to mind easily. So even if it seems crazy, go with it and stick with it:)
4. Plan how you're going to get it and begin immediately to put your plan into action. (You cannot wait until you're ready because that day may never come.)
5. Write a clear and concise statement about the amount of money you need. Include the deadline, what you intend to give in return for the money, and clearly describe how you plan to acquire it.
6. Read your written statement out loud twice a day, morning and evening; once just as you wake and last thing before going to bed. While you're reading it, feel and believe that you already have the money. (This is the key!) 
   

It is essential that you follow all six steps described above. And it is crucial that you strictly adhere to number 6. People complain that it's impossible to imagine the money before they get it. Hill responds that if you have a burning desire, that will create the obsession to have it.

Object lesson: Desire is wanting the money so bad that you are determined to have it and you convince yourself that you will have it. Use desire to slake your thirst for riches. This is how to become rich and prosperous in this lesson.

Keep in mind also that whatever you are seeking is also seeking you, and that there is no such thing as chance, luck or coincidence. Coincidence is sychronicity when things start lining up for you; because you, by your very thoughts, have set events in motion. It is up to you whether it will be a good trip or a bad trip. So watch those thoughts!
