Enthusiasm is a treasure worth its weight in gold. In seeking this treasure there are strategies that you can use to cultivate it in both yourself and others.

As you choose to develop the habit of enthusiasm remember that the closer you associate your desire with a strong motive, the quicker you will see the benefit in developing this characteristic.

Dr. Hill states: “Controlled enthusiasm alerts the imagination, adds attractiveness to your personality, and inspires your Personal Initiative and self-confidence.”

Obviously, there is a great reward in cultivating enthusiasm in relationship to your definite major purpose.

Suggestions for cultivating enthusiasm are:

1. Tie your enthusiasm to a strong motive. The three major motives are: the emotion of love, the emotion of sex, and the desire for financial gain. Singly, or in combination, these motives are said to rule the world. If you can combine two or three, you will further intensify your capacity for immediate and long lasting progress.

2. Act enthusiastic to feel enthusiastic. By acting the part you can acquire the characteristic.

3. Encourage others to be enthusiastic. Become a cheerleader for your program and others will catch your spirit and jump on board.

4. Consider several things that you enjoy. Make a list of ten topics. Speak about, read out loud about, and share your knowledge on one or more of these topics. Notice how enthusiasm naturally enters your voice when you are working in connection with something you love doing.

5. Compliment another person on something they do well. Fill your tone of voice with enthusiasm for their enjoyment. Make them feel like the center of the universe because you recognized them for their achievement. This will kick up the positive mood because of the higher vibration of thought and feel good emotions.

6. Look forward to something in the future. Plan for success, and be strongly enthusiastic about the outcome as the time nears. Whether it is a vacation, a dinner, or just a simple hour alone, be enthusiastic about the approaching opportunity and you will be surprised at how much the event turns out to be as you specifically envisioned it.

Consider cultivating enthusiasm in your daily activities. You will not only feel better, but you will accomplish more with ease minus the struggle. By visualizing and vitalizing your goals you will be amazed at how much sooner they will manifest in your present life. Fortunately, enthusiasm is a habit everyone can utilize and enjoy.

Why not begin right now and BE ENTHUSIASTIC about something!

Visions of another world
by Judith+Jean Baptiste
Source:4.bp.blogspot.com
We all want to live the life we dream of early in life but somehow most of us fail to get there.

Our dreams get put on hold for various reasons and most of us  end up never doing anything about it - that's what that mid-life crisis is all about.

My experience tells me that we stop short of our goals every single time because we are discouraged by others and most of all our own little selves.

We don't have faith and family and friends don't want us to change. In fact, they don't want anything to change. Fear is the most powerful motivator and so, we cave in time after time and stay stuck right where we are.

I mean, me, a grown woman with responsiblities and never enough money and too much to do, waste time creating a vision of a new life for myself. Something I can't eat and it can't pay the damn bills either.

Nope, never happen, don't waste my time. Yeah, right!

I decided because I had had it up to here with the one-way track to nowhere, fast, and no job plus a man who is afraid to live and be who he is really, to create the life I want for me, starting with moving into my own beautiful apartment.

And that's where I kept getting hung up because I had no money, and guess what...

A mad woman, I mean a medically diagnosed and violent schizophrenic under heavy medication in the Shelter where I live, gave me the answer.  Catherine, she said to me out of the blue one week ago, you can dream whatever you want into being and here're some tips to get the money. Win it in small amounts in lotto. Develop a plan to play $1 to $5 for "small" amounts (like $150,000), write out exactly how you intend to spend the money and most of all, BE HAPPY doing it.

And they say that people like her who hear voices and see imaginary things, many terrifying, are crazy! That encounter humbled me particularly since I had been very unpleasant to her, before she was diagnosed, when she kept verbally attacking me in a very violent manner.

Would you believe my life and now my expectations changed like magic from then on with everything falling into place like stepping stones. I knew about visualization. I used to coach people on it and was actually in the process of teaching someone about it but I wasn't walking the talk.

That was a huge miracle right there. I actually dreamt that I won the first small lotto two days later, started dreaming of a particular apartment with the rent I desire that I paid the first year in full to my wonderful landlady and everything else took off from there.

How amazing is that?

But listen to this, I started feeling a tightening in my gut which went all the way up my throat. That was fear - false evidence appearing real - at my newly increased fortune and circumstances. It was embedded early in childhood by my mother who had a very hard life as a child, wanted for most things we take for granted today, like going to school and whose self-esteem was in the toilet. That turned her into a cruel abuser of her eldest, me.

The good news  is once you recognise and acknowledge the fear - it's really fear of the unknown - ignore the bitch and move on. That old tape will only have power IF you pay attention to it and stop. Then, you'll be dead, again and maybe this time forever.

The trick is perspective. We women do not put ourselves first in anything and we must. When we don't, those we love and cherish will never benefit from what we can really provide.  It doesn't take much of a push and all you need ladies (and gents) is the desire to have what you want, the intention to go after it no matter what - don't tell anyone until you've done it - and a quiet, 30-minute break for yourself.

If that's not possible, do it lying in bed morning and evening and watch your dreamworld take over and do what you have to do in the real world to make it happen. This is attracting abundance and the law of attraction at work.

It's that simple.

I only needed five dollars to play scratch lotto and I didn't even know where I was going to get it after I decided to play different ones every ten days, yet out of the blue, I did. My faith was kinda shaky and my doubts even appeared in my visualization as wrought iron bars blocking me from my garden but I recognised where it was coming from. Nothing is going to stop me now.

The first article to jump out at me when I opened my mail from Evolution Ezine was Create a Vision for Your Dream Life by Dr. Joe Rubino. It provides you with a blueprint to follow to create the best life for yourself. Coincidences like that still catch me off-guard sometimes.

I have deliberately not recopied the entire article because I really want you to go to Evolution Ezine , where you will find the rest of Joe's article, as well as information to enrich and empower you on on your own spiritual evolutionary path.

This is the kind of  stuff miracles are made of - every good little thing that happens - are all part of what I call everyday spirituality.

Get on Board!

Dreams do come true. However, if your self-image is tarnished, your expectations of participating in all the great things that life has to offer are likely suffering as well. Perhaps, low self-esteem’s greatest cost is the resulting resignation it fosters. We die inside a little more each day. Before we realize what is happening, we have sold out our dreams for being all we can be, having those things we deserve and living a life fueled by our passions.

We get what we expect. If we expect that our lives will be marked by rich relationships, abundance, fun and adventure, we will generate an intention to make it so.

Our intention will create a drive within us to accomplish those actions necessary to manifest our vision.

Likewise, if low self-esteem results in anticipation of pain, loneliness, suffering, struggle, broken relationships and poverty, we will see these results in our world.
We unintentionally sabotage our efforts at achieving those things we want most because we do not believe we are worthy of receiving them. Every time things begin to look up, an invisible self-defeating inner thermostat kicks in, ensuring our low expectations become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

The good news is that you can retrain your thoughts and intentions to manifest what you want to have appear. Train your mind to become an ally in your quest for high self-esteem by creating a vision that honors your values, aligns with your passions and encompasses the qualities you are committed to fostering.

This new and empowering vision will replace the current dim vision that is neither serving your magnificence nor fueling your self-esteem.

Take an 8-ounce glass filled with coffee. This represents your low self-esteem. It is murky, dark and does not transmit light. Now take a large pitcher of crystal clear water. This represents your new empowering vision. Pour the water from the pitcher into the glass. The water from the pitcher flows into the glass, causing the glass to overflow.

The first few ounces have little obvious effect on the color of the liquid in the glass. However, as you add more pure water, the content of the glass gets lighter and lighter. By the time you have poured the entire pitcher out into the glass, you will notice all discolored liquid is gone and only pure, translucent water remains.

The same holds true with regard to your mind. As you replace cynical, self-defeating thoughts that crush your self-esteem with a positive, empowering vision that feeds your magnificence, the power of the new thoughts eventually replace the old.

This elevates your esteem and dilutes the thoughts that previously consumed your attention. The power in realizing this transformation comes from the magnitude of new positive energy that far surpasses the old negative force.

To mold your new life vision, emclose your eyes and imagine that a genie has just appeared before you. This genie has offered to grant your every wish, provided you have the courage to envision it, believe it will happen and pursue it.

In order to create this vision, you need to temporarily suspend any self-defeating thoughts that you will only have in your life what you have always had. The past does not need to be a harbinger of the future.

Keep in mind that we will be developing a specific plan of action to address the question, “What exactly will it take to manifest this vision?”

So, create your dream vision with the expectation that we will be designing a plan to bring each aspect of it into reality.

Let’s start by revisiting what values your vision will honor. These will form the fabric that will weave throughout your vision. Next, review the qualities you previously recorded that you will enhance and further develop. These qualities will speak to who you are being as you construct your dream life. And lastly, make a list of your passions.

These are those things you love to do and would gladly look forward to doing every day for the next 50 years. Your passions make life worthwhile.

Think of this vision as a movie script you will watch play out before you on the silver screen as you take your seat in the theater featuring your life story. Write your vision in first person and present tense as if you are describing a scene from the movie as it happens.

Create a vivid mental image with as much detail as possible to bring your vision to life. Utilize all your senses in describing it — sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. See your vision as an already accomplished reality in the present, not merely as something you want or hope to have happen.

If you construct your vision as something you hope to have, the wanting, desiring and not having of it will manifest instead of the realization of the vision itself.

And if that doesn't give you a kick, here is the beginning excerpt of Joe's own vision for his future, as an example. If he can do that and in such detail, so can you and I:

It is September 21, 2016. My wife, Janice, and I are celebrating my 60th birthday at our winter estate in Hana, on the island of Maui, Hawaii, by hosting a party attended by a thousand of our closest friends. Our waterfront property spans several acres marked by waterfalls and lush greenery, home to hundreds of magnificent tropical birds. All our family and the close friends we’ve made over the past 40 years are here. Our friends look to our Hawaiian home as a place for them to relax, rest and recharge their bodies, minds and souls. ACT AS IF - Convey the Feeling of the Result You Want

AddThis Social Bookmark Button
Best Blogger Tips
This is the clearest explanation, description and example I have ever read about "acting as if ". It's from the folks at Yourself Empowered.
We hear this term used pretty often now to describe the process of pretending you already have what you desire or have already attained a particular goal or objective using visualisation, affirmations etc. but few explain the innards that some folks need to get them going, especially when they don't have the faith that they will succeed.

Napoleon Hill explains that faith is an eternal elixir and it's that juice which rests dormant in our hearts and minds that we gotta get moving. When we feel that things are so far gone that it makes no difference dream into reality - use your creative workshop. That's what visualisation, using your imagination is all about. It's your own private workshop where you  act as if.

Bougainvillea flowers
It takes consistency, entering your workshop every day - especially when you don't feel like it - at the same time, for the same length of time until you develop the habit of using your imagination to fuel your desire. Eventually, you will start to feel so wonderful that you will look forward to it.

Here's what Yourself Empowered says about Act as if. Yes, it's a bit long but quite clear and I've included some extra reading links for you as well.
There has been some confusion around the meaning of "acting as if" you already have what you want. Some who are struggling financially, for example, wonder if they should be spending as if they have the money they need - the money they're visualising? The advice "act as if" can be very destructive, if not explained. Here's what it means:

The subconscious mind is like a genie. It doesn't reason, it doesn't argue, it doesn't judge. It just does as it's programmed to do. The conscious mind is the boss. Unfortunately, the boss doesn't always know what it's doing! ;)

The conscious mind is constantly instructing the subconscious - mostly on automatic and without awareness.

The way to instruct your genie with awareness and intention, is to convey the feeling of the result you want, to your subconscious. Imagination is the tool for conjuring up specific feelings.

If you consistently (and that's the most important - and most underestimated - bit) *consistently* imagine a specific scene that creates a specific feeling in you, you are effectively instructing - inserting a program - for the subconscious.

"Act as if" refers to in your imagination, because THAT is where the creation is happening, not in the outside world. The control panel for "out there" is inside you.

So, for example, a person who is struggling financially wants financial security. He creates this scene in his imagination:

He is at a table with all his close family and friends, in a wonderful restaurant. They've just had a fabulous meal, and he can see the empty wine bottles and remnants of dinner on the plates.

The waiter brings the bill to the table, and he calls to the waiter, to bring the bill to him. His friends and family object, and want to pay, but he insists that he will pay. The waiter brings the bill to him, and he takes out the cash, and places it on the bill, along with a generous tip. He feels the feeeeeling of being able to treat his family and friends, he feels the joy of seeing the waiter's face light up when he sees his tip.

This person is "acting as if" in the most important place (in fact, the only place that matters) - his imagination - which is what fuels the subconscious, which is the power that brings this scene to reality.

"Acting as if" in reality doesn't do anything, except probably get a person into more trouble ;)  It's the subconscious that is the power, and the imagination that is the fuel for that power.

When this person feels worried about money in reality - when he gets another bill he can't pay - he "acts as if" in his imagination - he closes his eyes, in that moment, and brings that restaurant scene to mind.

He feeeels the feeeeling of calling the waiter over and insisting on paying the full bill, of tipping that waiter generously. And in doing that, right in the middle of the worry of the bill he can't pay, he is changing the program in his subconscious... which, as long as he is consistent, will change his reality.

And, if he continues with that scene, daily, and continues to "act as if" in that scene in his imagination whenever doubt or worry creep in, he will find himself one evening, paying the bill for a wonderful dinner with his family and friends, happily tipping the waiter generously, with exactly the same feeling. And the feeling of being able to easily afford this, which he has been imagining... will be reality.

Acting as if" in your imagination, consistently (meaning at least once or twice every day, as well as every time you feel doubt or worry) is powering your subconscious to create that end result.

HERE'S A PLAN:

1- Pick at least two moments in your day to do this. Preferably first thing in the morning and last thing at night, but make sure they are times you will stick to.

Just as you brush your teeth every day regardless, you'll do this every day in the same way. In fact, you might like to do it when you brush your teeth, to make sure it's consistent.

2- Create a scene that would happen if you had what you want. Imagine yourself telling a friend that it's happened. What would you say? What would your friend say? Where would you be? Would you be eating or drinking anything? What would you see, what would you feel, hear, smell, taste?

3- Spend a few minutes imagining this scene, just as you would day-dreaming. Enjoy it. Do this at least every morning and evening (just before going to sleep is very effective.

4- During your day, whenever you feel worried or doubtful, or stressed, remember that scene. For a moment, remember what you did in that scene, and "act as if" in that scene. In other words, if the scene is you telling your friend over coffee, that you got the promotion you wanted, imagine showing your friend the letter - or better yet, read the letter to her.

Or, imagine yourself going into work, into your new office, or chatting to a work colleague about your new project. In this moment, you're redirecting your subconscious from the worrying or stress, to the course you want to set - the promotion, or whatever the end result is that you want. Keep resetting that course throughout the day, by "acting as if" in your imagination.

Hope this helps :) Love and Light and Magic xxx

Best Blogger Tips
A superb exercise - Call to Action, from Napoleon Hill Foundation World Learning Centre on mastering your thoughts to focus on your desire, have faith and get what you desire, feel rich in having it, then paying it forward to help others also lift themselves up to attain their own goals - just as you did.

A surprisingly tough exercise which takes a lot of thought and reflection, work and soul searching. For those of you who are ready and decide to do the Work, it is immensely rewarding when you are able to list five examples of each of the twelve riches that you value most in life.

After that all you gotta do is... Share It!
Action Assignment #11:
Review the 12 Riches of Life that Napoleon Hill lists below.
In your notebook, find five examples for each of the twelve riches in your own life. By doing this, you are unearthing your personal treasure that already exists in your life even if it has been buried or hidden for a time.

Next, using the same 12 Riches of Life, indicate how you are going to bring this richness into someone else’s life.

As you acknowledge your gifts, and then decide to help others attain these very same gifts, you are bestowing upon yourself a double blessing. By helping others you also expand your range of power, and simultaneously that bestows a blessing on you that makes you happy.

Finally, do it now. Once completed, the incurred blessings will be priceless!

Napoleon Hill’s Twelve Riches of Life

1. A Positive Mental Attitude
2. Sound Physical Health
3. Harmony in Human Relationships
4. Freedom from Fear
5. The Hope of Achievement
6. The Capacity for Faith
7. Willingness to Share One’s Blessings
8. A Labor of Love
9. An Open Mind on All Subjects
10. Self-Discipline
11. The Capacity to Understand People
12. Financial Security

We can become complete masters of ourselves, if we so desire. The main thought to bear in mind is first to gain the knowledge, and secondly to apply it.

Dying to the Old Me - Emancipation

AddThis Social Bookmark Button
Best Blogger Tips
Emancipation Day celebrants
LOVE IS SUCH a hurting thing. We hear that in songs all the time but that's not true at all. Love really does make the world go round. It is such a wonderfully uplifting, open and accepting emotion tolerant of all, critical of none, seeing beauty everywhere eyes are turned.

No, people, I am not in love. I woke up the other morning and after a brief meditation just felt so UP and these thoughts surfaced hence this post.

MY HEART FEELS full to bursting with gratitude. I feel such a tremendous love for my fellow man and now that the scales have been washed from my eyes, I see once again the light in the man who has unstintingly supported me despite his obvious challenges with alcohol.

I became blind to the light in his soul for the past months which was a shame since as that is what attracted me and made me want to know his story - how could he, a natural leader, a man of such worth and with such heart could end up living in a homeless shelter.

I RECOGNIZED not only our stark differences in upbringing and thus life experiences after our one month romantic fling - even that surprised me - but most importantly I began finding fault with his physical appearance resulting in inevitable criticism and angry encounters.

IT SOUNDS GREAT to say "Oh, I'm not normally like that..." but I would be lying and just as hypocritical as anyone else out there who is unable to communicate effectively. This man's lack of self-love and self-flagellation should have been a huge hint that I needed to check myself because that is what I was doing to myself in my empty, go-nowhere, depressing life. It was really terrible!

WE HUMANS ALWAYS project unto others what we don't like in ourselves and when they naturally reflect it right back at us we hate them. How bout them apples, huh, but that is exactly what we all need to 'fess up to.

AS SOON AS I stopped beating myself up, a welcome feeling of peacefulness swept over me. I discovered by chance afterward from one of my FB friends,
Penny Black of Morning Messages - and there's no such thing as coincidence - that a rare planetary formation on 29 July 2013 called the Star of David Merkaba Grand Sextile probably had a significant impact on me and others who are growing in awareness.

Nope, this is NOT woo woo stuff. The planets formed two intersecting triangles which formed the Star of David in the sky. It occurs once every 100 years or so and I was like AHA! because that Star pendant was also a gift granted to me in my teens during one of my astral travels almost thirty-eight years ago and that is what made me sit up and take notice. There is not such thing as coincidence people.

THIS GALACTIC EVENT also had a significant impact upon the feminine within all of us. I don't buy into the biblical/doomsday crap out about this either as I know, as a long time astral traveller that WE humans are not the only Beings out here and mother earth, our magnificent blue planet, as we all know is not alone in the universe either. For those interested, Peggy Black describes the impact of the rare planetary formation.

TEARS USED TO BE RARE events in my life. I thought I had used them all up eleven years ago during my suicidal depression. I normally fight down the feelings, soldier on and go analytical to dissect them.

IMAGINE MY HORROR when this overwhelming and I mean overwhelming, feeling of wrenching loss - it felt like death - surfaced in my chest and just never went away. It lasted for weeks and all I could do was cry. It made me crazy. I could barely hold them in and it happened everywhere, in taxis, the library, just walking. It was terrible. In part it helped that I wear sunglasses but not by much.

THAT EVENT LED up to the actual day, 29 July of the rare planetary formation and after which that exquisite feeling of loss faded and the tears petered out. The soul journey is a tough road.

I FELT THE NEED during that time to be on consecrated ground which led me to the one hundred and ninety year old Trinity Cathedral and that's where I found solace in its grounding energy.

I would just go sit there, let the tears flow copiously then go continue my job search.

IT'S AS IF I WOKE UP after that planetary constellation occurred and while sitting quietly one afternoon a 60-something year old woman in the early stages of Alzheimer's told me out of the blue and with perfect clarity "Don't be confused by what's happening around you. Stay as you are." We weren't even having a conversation and it touched me so. I was grateful for the message which confirmed that I was doing okay.

LOVE, LOVE OF SELF, having compassion for your Self and others is magical all by itself. I can reaffirm that after my experiences of feeling crushed and losing myself somehow. I died (or is it the other way around) to the old parts of me that were no longer relevant or needed.

ACCEPTANCE OF THOSE different among us is a serious challenge in some cases however those positive feelings do contribute toward our global upliftment.

I want to reiterate that it really matters not what others think of you. It is none of your bizness! Abraham-Hicks says Allow others to be, do or have whatever they want. You do not have to take anything from their experience that you don't like. Remember that.

IT'S A GREAT OMEN that today is also Emancipation Day here, a public holiday celebrated each year on 1 August to commemorate the emancipation of slaves in the British colonies - Trinidad and Tobago was one - in 1834. They still had to fight for that because the plantation owners wanted to impose a 4-year apprenticeship until they decided how to replace the nigras. Happily that wasn't to be.

ATTAINING THAT WHICH we desire always seems so difficult. It comes from a lack of self-love, confidence and belief in our right to have it. Because of those feelings we find it hard to maintain focus exclusively on what we want. We ae no longer in the flow, the zone, the groove.

WHATEVER YOU DESIRE is yours to receive. All you have to do is be open to it and expect it. Don't hang on to the "I have to have it" desperate plea. That's negative and self-defeating. Simply decide what you want and don't keep changing your mind. Your doubts are telling the Universe "I'm not sure if that's it" so stop that and take whatever little steps you can to further your fesire.

YOU CAN CREATE affirmations or use those offered on places like HayHouse to increase your faith that you will obtain your heart's desire. Affirmations always work. Their use changes your energy to attract what you want. It's when you use words that are countered by your powerful negative belief that you end up with problems such as "I want a million dollars in the bank" and creditors are currently badgering you to make at least a minimum payment. Get my drift. In cases like this get some financial counselling first.

REPEAT AFFIRMATIONS EVERY DAY and often. Louise Hay says that practising affirmations in front of a mirror, I tried it with a makeup mirror, brings on the changes even faster. It's just you and your eyes.

I'VE BEEN MAKING CHANGES all my life yet had conveniently forgotten all the techniques I used over the years that brought me where I am today when I sunk into this slump.

BEGIN A VISUALIZATION workshop every day for fifteen to thirty minutes in which you create and live your dream, your desire, as if it already exists. This is a fabulous way of pumping up your energy with good vibes all the way. You are in effect telling the Universe "Thank you for bringing it my way." You are that certain.

SYNCHRONICITY TAKES CHARGE and creates links in the chain that bring events and you together to attain that no longer unreachable goal. You hear a chance remark, unlikely people point the way, the most banal of situation turn golden, and like that, you are on your way. Have faith in the process.

BE CERTAIN of what you want and desire, ignore all that is not important to you, tell no one about it as they would instill doubt in your mind, stay the course and watch it happen. Dying to the old me was painful, as usual. I intend to get better and better as I re-learn focusing on my needs and being faithful to them and being gentle and compassionate with myself. I deserve it as do you.

Stick to your Principels in the Hour of Adversity

Best Blogger Tips

Your real courage shows best in the hour of adversity.

Some setbacks are so severe that to give in to them means losing the whole ball game.

When he assumed command of the Korean War, Gen. Matthew Ridgeway found his forces pushed far to the south, hard pressed by the invaders.

Only a determined decision to hold the lines allowed the American forces to keep from being swept into the sea and to eventually regain all the territory they had lost.

When a defeat strikes, you may not have the time to withdraw and contemplate your mistakes without risking further setbacks. Don’t succumb to paralysis.

It is important to know at that moment what it is you truly desire and to act to preserve your resources and your hope. If you crumble utterly, you will take a blow to your self-esteem that will be hard to repair.

Instead, stick to your principles, and you will know, at the very least, that you have protected the most important thing you have.

Your successes in life will far outnumber your failures.

A reminder and perfect way to begin and continue 2013.  Focus on what you really desire - stop believing the nonsensical and usually negative stories you keep telling yourself.

Continuing to tell stories of shortage only continues to contradict your desire for abundance, and you cannot have it both ways: You cannot focus upon unwanted and receive wanted.
You cannot focus upon stories about money that make you feel uncomfortable and allow into your experience what makes you feel comfortable.
A different story will bring different results: My thoughts are the basis for the attraction of all things that I consider to be good, which includes enough money, and health, for my comfort and joy.

I never consciously thought about it in the way Russell Bishop describes in his article however he is absolutely correct. When I think about things I don't want in my life anymore, I demand instant changes because I deserve it which in fact is a lie because if I really believed that I wouldn't be in the current situation nor would I have to insist.

It would be all natural and free flowing.

Of course I feel disappointed and frustrated hurrying up to wait when my expectations are not met, and that right there is the crux of the matter. Expectations lead to disappointment because joy doesn't come on demand.

We have to feel it inside.

Merriam-Webster dictionary defines JOY as the emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires.

Bishop says that the anticipation of joy would be much more fulfilling (it's on its way to me) and not open to disappointment as in (I deserve it and why isn't it here) and that's where affirmations and visualization come in.

Here's an excerpt from Russell Bishop's article Soul Talk - Want More Joy in your Life? He describes affirmations and visualization as just one means of  moving the odds in your favour. An article not to be missed!

Anticipating Joy

It's pretty simple, really: Shift from expecting joy to anticipating joy. Besides the obviously-simplistic idea that this could be nothing more than semantics, there is actually a huge difference.

Expectations carry with them the sense of entitlement along with a demand for immediacy. "I expected" it is a way of saying I deserved it, and if you're expecting joy today, then not only are you running on the premise of you deserve it, but that you deserve it now and that the source of your joy comes from someone or something outside yourself.
Anticipation, however, carries with it a sense that the joy is coming and you just don't know when. "It's just around the corner" is a whole different mindset from "it damn well better be just around the corner."

The trick to anticipating joy is not that much different from that old Heinz catsup commercial put to Carly Simon's song "Anticipation" -- you just have to hang in there long enough for the joy to come out.

While you're waiting, you stay focused on how good it's going to "taste" when it finally does come out.

Hope Is The Magic Ingredient - Empower Yourself!

Best Blogger Tips
Motivate Yourself and Others by Napoleon Hill and W. Clement Stone with the magic ingredient. What is the magic ingredient? One man, in particular, found it and here is his story.

Motivate Yourself and Others
Some years ago, this man, a successful cosmetic manufacturer, retired at the age of sixty-five.

Each year thereafter his friends gave him a birthday party, and on each occasion they asked him to disclose his formula. Year after year he pleasantly refused; however, on his seventy-fifth birthday his friends, half jokingly and half seriously, once again asked if he would disclose the secret.

"You have been so wonderful to me over the years that I now will tell you," he said. "You see, in addition to the formulas used by other cosmeticians, I added the magic ingredient."

"What is the magic ingredient?" he was asked.

"I never promised a woman that my cosmetics would make her beautiful, but I always gave her hope."

Hope is the magic ingredient!

Hope is a desire with the expectation of obtaining what is desired and belief that it is obtainable. A person consciously reacts to that which to him is desirable, believable, and attainable.

And he also subconsciously reacts to the inner urge that induces action when environmental suggestion, self-suggestion, or auto-suggestion cause the release of the powers of his subconscious mind.

His response to suggestion may develop obedience that is direct, neutral, or in reverse action to a specific symbol. In other words, there may be various types and degrees of motivating factors.

Every result has a given cause. Your every act is the result of a given cause - your motives.

Stoke the Furnace of Your Red-Hot Desire - Have a Purpose!

Best Blogger Tips
Everything you create or acquire begins in the form of desire.

In order to act, you must have a purpose. If you want to act successfully in all but the most mundane affairs, you must embrace that purpose with a burning desire.
Many people think they want to be successful, but since they do not back that thought with an intense drive, they never achieve success.
Cultivate your desire. Feed it with thoughts of yourself enjoying whatever it is you seek. It’s like stoking the furnace of a steam engine.
You need to build up enough pressure to carry yourself over hills; if your desire doesn’t burn hotly enough, you’ll find yourself stalled and rolling backwards. The secret to action is a red-hot desire.

Let Your Desire for Feeling Good Be Your Guiding Light

Best Blogger Tips
I woke feeling disturbed this morning. My new neighbour is a creep. But after my meditation and a fab Tibetan yoga session - it was hard because I haven't done it in months - I felt great because I am alive. I AM and that cancels the negativity and reinforces my positive energy. So this day I want to share my thought for today from Abraham-Hicks today...

Be easy about it. Don't rush into things. Savor them more. Make more plans and be more deliberate and specific about the plans that you are making; and in all that you do, let your dominant intent be to find that which pleasures you as you imagine it.
Let your desire for pleasure — your desire for feeling good — be your only guiding light. As you seek those thoughts that feel good, you will always be in vibrational harmony with the Energy that is your Source. And, under those conditions, only good can come to you; and only good can come from you.

Think About Where You're Going, Not Where You've Been

Lost in a flower / Perdido en una florLost in Flower by . SantiMB .
Abraham's mini lesson today is very à propos,  perfectly describing what I have been living these past three weeks with Internet forcibly turned off.

I have been struggling blindly against what is, in other words, reality, because I kept focussing on what was wrong in my life. Yeah, yeah, I know, I am not unique in that respect and neither is this new to me.

What is new is that I kept focussing half of my attention on changes I want to bring into my life and what I do not like.

And that sucks, big time, since I knew that what I kept my attention on is what I would bring into my reality; negativity is very powerful. So basically I got a lot more shite.

Now that I am coming out of that depressing period, Abraham-Hicks' words caught my eye as they perfectly encapsulate what you and I perpetuate far too often in our lives. The beautiful part is that this can be changed. We just have to be more rigorous in our thinking and deliberate choose what we think.

To paraphrase Napoleon Hill, each of us is in control of our lives and emotions. Change your thoughts, change your vibration and bring what you desire into your life!

It's not necessary for you to exacerbate your contrast with struggle in order to get it into a higher place. It is not necessary to suffer in order to give birth to desire. But when you have suffered and you have given birth to desire, so what? You've got a desire.
Turn your attention to the desire. Think about where you're going and never mind where you've been. Don't spend any more time justifying any of that stuff! –Abraham

Attaining Success Means You Work Long After The Others Quit

A stony path in the Valley of Flowers....A stony path in the valley of flowers by Himalayan Trails Napoleon Hill's Thought For The Day — When the going is hardest, just keep on keeping on, and you’ll get there sooner than someone who finds the going easy.

If you think achieving great heights of success will be easy, you either don't understand at all how the process works or you have your sights set too low. Reaching the top of any field is difficult, time-consuming, and often tedious.

The reason it isn't crowded at the top is that most people won't do the things that are necessary to achieve success. They are all too willing to give up when the going gets tough.

If you need inspiration to persevere, read the biographies of men and women who have achieved greatness in their lives. You will find that they prevailed because they refused to quit. They continued to toil alone long after the masses had given up and gone home.

Happy flower         Happy flower by Jomind
You're always on your way somewhere. The key is: find a way to be happy wherever you now are on your way to where you really want to be. (We're speaking of the state of being you want.)
It does not matter where you are; where you are is shifting constantly - but you must turn your attention to where you want to go. And that's the difference between making the best of something and making the worst of something.

Introducing changes, even small ones, into our lives helps us become more engaged in what we do.

Wanting to escape from the world is a natural reaction to the established patterns in our lives. When this happens too often, however, we avoid reality and our dreams take over our thoughts.

Finding some way to integrate both our desire for the new and the actuality of our lives let us remain grounded in the present but also indulge our yearning for excitement.

By doing something new today, you can change many aspects of your routine to be more meaningful and mentally stimulating for you. DailyOM

You Are An Eternal Being With Never-ending Opportunities

LOvE the one your heart desiresImage by Thai Jasmine (Take good care :-))
There is no end to life experience, for you are an Eternal Being with never-ending opportunities for joyous expansion.

With each new desire that is launched and then allowed to manifest—you will discover yet another platform from which to launch more desire. This process of creation is not about getting the creation finished and finding an end to needed manifestations. It is about the joyous process of expansion. And in the very moment that your intention shifts to a determination to “feel good” rather than a determination of “manifest something,” not only will you become a consistently happy person, but all things wanted will flow easily to you.

It seems a paradox to some—in the beginning—while it is not paradoxical at all: “I want these things because I would feel better in the having of them, but my awareness of their absence prevents me from having them. But if I can find a way of feeling better even without having them, then they can be mine.”

A powerful Universal truth is simply this: you cannot attract the presence of something wanted when predominantly aware of its absence.

How To Build Practical Plans for Success in 4 Steps

AddThis Social Bookmark Button
Best Blogger Tips
I'm back with a quickie but goodie from Napoleon Hills' Think and Grow Rich. This one is from Chapter 6 on Organized Planning - The Crystallization of Desire Into Action.

As those of you who follow this blog or Napoleon Hill's teachings already know from 6 Steps to become rich and prosperous: Use desire to slake your thirst for riches, planning is an essential component on your path to success as stated in the fourth step.

A solid, practical plan is the only way to transform your desire to be rich into real money and this naturally segues into how to build practical plans for success in 4 steps:

  1. Ally yourself with a group if as many people as you may need for the creation and carrying out of your plan or plans for the accumulation of money using the "Mastermind" principle. This point is absolutely essential; do not neglect it!  I have already touched on the Mastermind principle in How to successfully mastermind a reading group in 9 steps and I will return to it in detail since I have successfully participated in two mastermind groups over the past months.
  2. Before forming your Mastermind group, decide what advantages and benefits you can offer the individual members of your group, in return for their cooperation. No one will work indefinitely without some form of compensation. No intelligent person will either request or expect another to work without adequate compensation, although this may not always be in the form of money.
  3. Arrange to meet with the members of your Mastermind group at least twice a week, and more often if possible, until you have jointly perfected the necessary plan or plans for the accumulation of money.
  4. Maintain perfect harmony between yourself and every member of your Master mind group. If you fail to carry out this instruction to the letter, you may expect to meet with failure. The Mastermind principle cannot obtain where perfect harmony does not prevail.
