5 Easy ways to improve your life, taking 30 days at a time by local author Roslyn Carrington (featured in the Trinidad Guardian on 22 June 2014).

Not only are they easy to do but they actually work. I need to practice number 5 often because when I'm in a bad  mood or feeling down, I get mean at times.

Folks, the difference, the quiet inside that comes from stilling the incessant commenting on others is just amazing. Try them and surprise yourself. Our lives are fuller than we sometimes believe.

I call these self-improvement tips everyday spirituality because we are turned on when we tune in! Roslyn writes:

30 Days at a time
Every once in a while we stop and take stock of ourselves, adn feel like we should change something. The problem lies int he mistaken belief that we should make huge, life-shaking changes... and that's when we become discouraged.

The secret is to take on small, easy challenges, that take very little effort, but add up to so much in the end.

Here are 5 easy 30-day challenges that won't take a whole lot out of you, but which are sure to add richness to your life.

1. Watch one documentary a day for 30 days. Try short pieces like those on TED talks, they usually run 15 minutes or so. Browse through and pick from the endless variety of topics. Be sure to share what you learned.

2. Take a photo every day for 30 days.  Keep your phone or pocket camera nearby, and keep an eye out for something that touches you or says something about your life. Post your photos online or in a private journal, with a short note explaining what the shot means to you. You'd be surprised how textured your life will seem once you open your eyes.

3. Say hello to a stranger every day for 30 days. No, not creepy looking guys on the street but people you pass by or interact with wordlessly all the time. The cashier at the store, the doubles man, the janitor at the office. "Hello? How are you? How's your day going?" can make all the difference in someone else's day.

4. Take a cold shower every day for 30 days. No joke; most of us have become a little too dependent on the luxury of warm showers. A good, bracing daily shower will brighten your skin, wake you up, and make you more alert to face the day. It will also make you less dependent on first-world niceties that the vast majority of the world does without.

5. Swallow negative or pessimistic comments about yourself and others for 30 days. You'll be surprised how eliminating negativity from the tip of your tongue also erases it from your heart and your  mood. You'll start to feel lighter in no time.

Try one of these challenges, starting today.

BE THE CHANGE - Take Those Steps to Freedom - It is Inside of You

Steps to Freedom by  Madisyn Taylor of DailyOM strikes a chord in me in this year of 2014 where my resolve to embody the feeling of positively conscious and serene is taking a serious beating.

Life is about accepting daily changes as they occur and that means everyday spirituality to me.

My difficulties simply highlight the veils that must be torn away and the people I meet tell me and show me the manner in which I must evolve by not just facing my "ugly" truth but also knowing when I must remain true to myself and my beliefs.

Right now, it's about absolutely fearless me (or so I thought) having to;

  • face down an abuser, a bully and a neanderthal all rolled into one in a police case; I faced the fear I didn't know was there.
  • confront an intelligent, gifted and almost schizoid individual who believes that everyone is against her no matter what she does and childishly demands that I show care and concern for her while at the same time she tries to bend me to her will via emotional blackmail and threats and makes denigrating remarks in the misguided belief of having superior knowledge; I extended kindness towards her while severing our relationship at the same time. That was new and rewarding for me. And finally,
  • walk away from the mentally disabled women in the homeless shelter where I lived as I have finally accepted after two long years that I cannot assist them in any tangible way.  Sadly, they all decided that they did not want to change anything in their lives. Even though they said that to me at before I didn't believe it. I thought I could change their outlook and thus their minds but that was futile and I feel very sad about it. I walked away with a tear in my heart and good wishes in mind for them all.
Facing these challengers force me to face not only my beliefs but also lisen to their truths about me and question myself about it. I know my truth only after I examine my feelings, bypassing the instinctive anger at the disrespect shown.

I love who I am, right now!

Nothing has the power to move you from what you know to be right. You are unshakeable.

We all will take those steps to freedom or diminish and die - and we all have been on this road reincarnation after reincarnation for quite a while now - and it's not about free speech or anything so mundane.

No, the freedom of which I speak is inside of you, and you, and you. When you free yourselves from the bondage of other people's beliefs and step into your own, you will move mountains by your very determination and perseverance and passion for whatever cause inspires you.

It's not about placard waving although there's that too if it's your style. There's also quiet diplomacy and communication, community development activities, keeping your family together through thick and thin. Whatever moves you to act, grasp it, hold on tight, follow it through to the end and amaze yourself.

That's right, you're doing it for your Self. When you take those steps to freedom, you not only inspire others but those around you benefit in countless ways. You have to be the change; there is no one else!

 STEPS TO FREEDOM

Change What Isn’t Working

If we don't change what isn't working in our lives, we will continually have the same day over and over again.

We have all had the experience of realizing that something in our lives is not working. This knowledge can come as a sudden realization or a nagging feeling of doubt that grows stronger, waking us up to the fact that something needs to change.

Some people have a tendency to act rashly and make sweeping changes before even understanding what the problem is. Other people fear change, so they live with the uncomfortable awareness that something needs to shift but won’t do anything about it. Between these two extreme responses lies a middle way that can help us powerfully and gracefully change what isn’t working in our lives.

The first step is remembering that your life is made up of parts that belong to an interconnected whole. Changing one thing can change everything. Because of this, small changes often have a big effect. Sometimes much bigger changes are necessary, but the only way to know for sure is to take the time to really understand the problem.

Examine your life as an entirety—your work, your relationships, where you live—and determine what specifically is not functioning the way you would like. Once you have figured out the problem, write it down on a piece of paper.

For example, “I am not happy with my relationship” or “I don’t like my apartment.”

The next step is to figure out the adjustment you would like to make and how you can go about making this change.

If you are unhappy with your relationship because you spend too much or not enough time with your partner, you may want to discuss this problem with them and come up with a compromise.

On the other hand, if you realize your relationship is not working to such a degree that it needs to end, begin working through that process. Writing down the truth can be a powerful catalyst for change.

The key to making changes that work is to accept the necessity of change as part of life. As we change, we may find it necessary to fine-tune our relationships, work, and living situations. Our lives are living, breathing entities that reflect our dynamic selves.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT - The Joy of Being Happy is a Naturally Who We Are

Nothing more need be said about the folks at DailyOM except sign up to their newsletter and sup on their missives that really do nurture the mind, body and spirit. Here's one of their gems about happiness - everyday spirtuality - that's my food for thought for today.

Happiness is a gift you must unwrap each day.

The Joy of Being

Source: pinimg.com
You could be in high spirits and might wish to share your feelings of delight with others today. Relishing in the joy of being alive may be the reason for your carefree and happy mood. Perhaps you might simply stay present with your feelings today.

During the day you can notice where your sense of pleasure takes you. It may be the enjoyment of living in your body, the emotional sensations you feel, or the high you get from being with others. Try to remain present with whatever manifestation of your happiness arises.
When you are with other people you can remember these feelings and create the intention that they also share in the same joy. Not only may others be drawn to you but they may also be inspired to spread the mutual joyfulness you all feel to others.

Experiencing contentment in simply being alive is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves. For so many of us, joy seems to be a guilty pleasure since we are often taught that happiness is something we get only if we work hard at it. Feeling happiness, however, is a natural part of who we are.

Savoring it makes us value it all the more. When we learn to accept this, it becomes natural to want to share it, for being happy with ourselves allows us to reach out to others with an open heart more easily. By delighting in who you are today, you will foster joy not only in yourself but in your community as well.

Source: pinterest.com
I do not subscribe to any religion since my rebellious streak raises its ugly head when anyone tells me what to do or how to do it. Prayers however are a different story once I understood that they have nothing to do with organized religion.

If it wasn't for my constant communication with the powers that be in the Universe, I wouldn't be here today. They say that prayer is talking to god and meditation is listening for the answer. So in that vein, here are 29 prayer quotes to enjoy on any day.

1- Don't pray when it rains if you don't pray when the sun shines. ~Satchel Paige,

2- Prayer may not change things for you, but it for sure changes you for things. ~Samuel M. Shoemaker

3- Give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day; give him a religion, and he'll starve to death while praying for a fish. ~Author Unknown

4- I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs. ~Frederick Douglass, escaped slave

5- Practical prayer is harder on the soles of your shoes than on the knees of your trousers. ~Austin O'Malley

6- As long as there are tests, there will be prayer in schools. ~Author Unknown

7- When we talk to God, we're praying. When God talks to us, we're schizophrenic. ~Jane Wagner, In Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe, 1985

8- Many people pray as if God were a big aspirin pill; they come only when they hurt. ~B. Graham Dienert

9- Prayer is when you talk to God; meditation is when you listen to God. ~Author Unknown

10- The Lord's Prayer may be committed to memory quickly, but it is slowly learnt by heart. ~Frederick Denison Maurice

11- I used to think the Lord's Prayer was a short prayer; but as I live longer, and see more of life, I begin to believe there is no such thing as getting through it. If a man, in praying that prayer, were to be stopped by every word until he had thoroughly prayed it, it would take him a lifetime. ~Henry Ward Beecher

12- Prayer gives a man the opportunity of getting to know a gentleman he hardly ever meets. I do not mean his maker, but himself. ~William Inge

13- If we could all hear one another's prayers, God might be relieved of some of his burdens. ~Ashleigh Brilliant

14- The trouble with our praying is, we just do it as a means of last resort. ~Will Rogers

15- To be present is to be prayerful. ~Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh

16- Prayer must never be answered: if it is, it ceases to be prayer and becomes correspondence. ~Oscar Wilde

17- It is not well for a man to pray cream and live skim milk. ~Henry Ward Beecher

18- Certain thoughts are prayers. There are moments when, whatever be the attitude of the body, the soul is on its knees. ~Victor Hugo, Les Misérables, 1862

19- Complaint is the largest tribute heaven receives and the sincerest part of our devotion. ~Jonathan Swift

20- I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go. ~Abraham Lincoln

21- Pray, v. To ask that the laws of the universe be annulled in behalf of a single petitioner confessedly unworthy. ~Ambrose Bierce, The Devil's Dictionary, 1911

24- When you bow deeply to the universe, it bows back; when you call out the name of God, it echoes inside you. ~Morihei Ueshiba

25- Most people do not pray; they only beg. ~George Bernard Shaw

26- To give thanks in solitude is enough. Thanksgiving has wings and goes where it must go. Your prayer knows much more about it than you do. ~Victor Hugo

28- Prayer is the spirit speaking truth to Truth. ~Philip James Bailey

29- Call on God, but row away from the rocks. ~Indian Proverb

You are the Captain of your Ship and the Master of your Soul

Hibiscus flower by 3.bp.blogspot.com

Louise Hay just shared three Heart Thoughts  with us from her book of the same name via her free newsletter

I'm passing them on to you because of their importance to your physical and mental well-being.

The heart is the centre of our universe - yours and mine - and the fact that it lies in the centre of your chest is no coincidence.

It is the well-spring from which we seek succor in times of pain and stress. We need to become friends with who we really are inside there.

Leaving yourself open may make you feel too vulnerable but it is the only way to face what ails you, head on and deal with it.

I unwittingly left myself open after the final year of psychotherapy during my suicidal depression and it was one of my best friends who brought it to my attention.

She was impressed and scared at the same time that I could walk around in public without a mask.

I cannot say that it is easy every day but that was eight years ago and I am learning more about me every day and making the changes that are essential to my growth and evolution.

This is everyday spirituality and a powerful technique for your personal growth.

Deal with the hurt and pain created by your thoughts and beliefs learnt from others in childhood when you had no choice and knew no better.

As adults you can choose who you want to be and the thoughts you want to keep in your heads. Your beliefs are up to you.

You are the captain of your ship and master of your soul!

I Am Free to Be Me

Don’t swallow your anger and have it settle in your body.

When you get upset, give yourself a physical release.
There are several methods you can use to release these feelings in positive ways.
You can scream in the car with the windows closed. You can beat your bed or kick pillows.
You can make noise and say all the things you want to say. You can scream into a pillow.
You can run around a track, or play a game like tennis to release the energy.

Beat the bed or kick pillows at least once a week, whether you feel angry or not...just to release those physical tensions you store in your body!

I Create Wonderful New Beliefs about Myself

These are some of the beliefs that can really help you in your life if you think or say them every day:
I am always safe.

Everything I need to know is revealed to me.

Everything I need comes to me in the perfect time/space sequence.

Life is a joy and filled with love.

I prosper wherever I turn.

I am willing to change and to grow.

All is well in my world.

It’s Only a Thought and a Thought Can Be Changed
How many times have you refused to think a positive thought about yourself?
Well, you can refuse to think negative thoughts about yourself, too. People say, “I can’t stop thinking a thought.”
Yes, you can!
You have to make up your mind that it’s what you’re going to do. You don’t have to fight your thoughts when you want to change things.
When that negative voice comes up, you can say, “Thank you for sharing, and I’m choosing to do something else.
I don’t want to buy into that anymore, I want to create another way of thinking.”
Don’t fight your thoughts. Acknowledge them and go beyond them.
Affirmation: I claim my power now. Life is always there for me.

7 Tips to Make 2014 YOUR Year of Positive Thinking

The ability to not hide behind a mask but to own your truth is one of the first aspects of being a wholesome human being. ~Angela Martin, Editor, Trinidad Express Woman Magazine

Source: Wikimedia
I chose to share this article from the Trinidad Express Woman Magazine of 5 January 2014 because it vibes with my purpose this year to be positively conscious and serene.

The 7 tips also underline what I know to be true, that masks are a waste of time - dare to be bare, be authentic, be real; that action is necessary to get what you desire, commit yourself - get up and get it no matter what it takes; that life really is about living. Embrace it. Love life, after all you are life!

Living out loud is the only way to be. That is why you are here.

2014 Year of Positive Thinking

You have a bright idea somewhere in the back of your mind that you just can't wait to test out. The question is, do you really want to bring it out into the light?: What could motivate you to churn your creative, inspiring juices to their utmost flavor?

Did you know that it always helps to set a time line to your personal goals? Set yourself up so you can accomplish the most tasks in record time. For example, mowing the lawn in an hour before the big game on TV.

A correct and positive attitude in whatever you do will make things easier, and even enjoyable.

It's simple. If you begin to allow yourself a bit of positive thinking then you will begin to realise things that you never thought possible.

Discover 7 tips to make 2014 your year of positive thinking but I've put my own twist to them.

1- ACT. You must take passionate action towards living your life by design. Talk is cheap. Action equals deposits in the bank of a passionately authentic future. Action speaks louder than words. Without action, passion is void.

Dreams become reality when you begin by imagining and fantasizing on how things could be, fleshing it out then taking action to make it a reality. And if the idea weakens or falters, you can always go back to it later until you finish it or it could be a signal that it needs more work or you're on the wrong track. Only you will know through intuitive action, when you feel it.

2- LOVE. Commit to yourself then commit to those you love to powerfully create a life you can love. Instead of re-acting (repeating the same old), commit to creating from your heart and soul, out of love rather than fear. The possibilities of prosperity and success will always be there but a dream will still be a dream without motion. Be amazed as the transformation begins. Yeah!

3- LIVE.  Embrace moments and opportunities. Recognise and embrace the thought that each moment is perfect regardless of its outcome.

Every time something appears that may seem too extreme for you give it a shot anyway. Step out of your comfort zone. You don't know it will work but you may be surprised by the results. If they are not satisfactory use that opportunity to learn from it and make the appropriate shift.

Learning and growing is part of living. There are no such things as failures.

4- BE GRATEFUL. Dwell completely in a place of gratitude. Learn to use what you have in the most constructive way. Necessity is the mother of invention, after all. Have you ever needed something so badly but nothing was forthcoming so you had to make do with what was at hand? I have, many many times. You become resourceful and it grows. How grateful were you that you had the means to solve your situation?

The habit of being needy - a very negative emotion - will diminish when you repeatedly shift towards gratitude and away from poverty consciousness.

5- BE PASSIONATE. Use a passion formula of Recognise/Re-evaluate/Restore in place of the shoulda/woulda/coulda whirlwind. The former is based on increased knowledge and abundance while the latter focuses on scarcity and lack.

6- LAUGH. Keep humor at the forefront of thought, laughing at and with yourself whenever possible. You  may find yourself quite entertaining when you loosen up! I crack  myself up and I love it! Life has too much to offer to allow yourself to mope around in self pity. Humor is very attractive, very passionate, life-giving.

7- DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE. Believe that you are the architect of your destiny. Deciding how you wish to be remembered when you pass from this life is truly a driving force for some but for me, the one question that I must be able to answer in the affirmative is "did I enjoy myself without regret". Your purpose for being can be as simple as being a great parent, wife, lover, office worker to discovering how to save our planet from the destructive effects of climate change.
Set a goal to achieve something that is so big, so exhilarating that it excites you and scares you at the same time. It must be a goal that is so appealing, so much in line with your spiritual core, that you can't get it out of your mind. If you do not get chills when you set a goal, you're not setting big enough goals. ~Bob Proctor

When you have a strong purpose no one can take your passionate future from you - except for you! Truly, as long as there's still breath in your body there is no end to how much you can accomplish in a lifetime.

Discovering and following your purpose makes you enjoy whatever you do. It will never be "work". Celebrate the discovery that making your dreams a reality fulfills your purpose for being here. Watch everything flow into place with perfect, passionate precision.

Activate your positive thinking. Stretch your imagination. Think bigger than you feel comfortable. Act on your thoughts. That is intuitive action.

You are not doomed. Living a life of purpose and love is what you desire. You ache for something better. That wonderful, creative idea in you is about to be released. You want to do this because you are reading this article. When you truly desire something, the means to attain it sparks your imagination in such a way that it becomes inevitable the more you persist, work at it and flesh it out.

 Go to it!

EVERYDAY SPIRITUALITY - Create a Vision for your Dream Life and Make it Come True

Visions of another world
by Judith+Jean Baptiste
Source:4.bp.blogspot.com
We all want to live the life we dream of early in life but somehow most of us fail to get there.

Our dreams get put on hold for various reasons and most of us  end up never doing anything about it - that's what that mid-life crisis is all about.

My experience tells me that we stop short of our goals every single time because we are discouraged by others and most of all our own little selves.

We don't have faith and family and friends don't want us to change. In fact, they don't want anything to change. Fear is the most powerful motivator and so, we cave in time after time and stay stuck right where we are.

I mean, me, a grown woman with responsiblities and never enough money and too much to do, waste time creating a vision of a new life for myself. Something I can't eat and it can't pay the damn bills either.

Nope, never happen, don't waste my time. Yeah, right!

I decided because I had had it up to here with the one-way track to nowhere, fast, and no job plus a man who is afraid to live and be who he is really, to create the life I want for me, starting with moving into my own beautiful apartment.

And that's where I kept getting hung up because I had no money, and guess what...

A mad woman, I mean a medically diagnosed and violent schizophrenic under heavy medication in the Shelter where I live, gave me the answer.  Catherine, she said to me out of the blue one week ago, you can dream whatever you want into being and here're some tips to get the money. Win it in small amounts in lotto. Develop a plan to play $1 to $5 for "small" amounts (like $150,000), write out exactly how you intend to spend the money and most of all, BE HAPPY doing it.

And they say that people like her who hear voices and see imaginary things, many terrifying, are crazy! That encounter humbled me particularly since I had been very unpleasant to her, before she was diagnosed, when she kept verbally attacking me in a very violent manner.

Would you believe my life and now my expectations changed like magic from then on with everything falling into place like stepping stones. I knew about visualization. I used to coach people on it and was actually in the process of teaching someone about it but I wasn't walking the talk.

That was a huge miracle right there. I actually dreamt that I won the first small lotto two days later, started dreaming of a particular apartment with the rent I desire that I paid the first year in full to my wonderful landlady and everything else took off from there.

How amazing is that?

But listen to this, I started feeling a tightening in my gut which went all the way up my throat. That was fear - false evidence appearing real - at my newly increased fortune and circumstances. It was embedded early in childhood by my mother who had a very hard life as a child, wanted for most things we take for granted today, like going to school and whose self-esteem was in the toilet. That turned her into a cruel abuser of her eldest, me.

The good news  is once you recognise and acknowledge the fear - it's really fear of the unknown - ignore the bitch and move on. That old tape will only have power IF you pay attention to it and stop. Then, you'll be dead, again and maybe this time forever.

The trick is perspective. We women do not put ourselves first in anything and we must. When we don't, those we love and cherish will never benefit from what we can really provide.  It doesn't take much of a push and all you need ladies (and gents) is the desire to have what you want, the intention to go after it no matter what - don't tell anyone until you've done it - and a quiet, 30-minute break for yourself.

If that's not possible, do it lying in bed morning and evening and watch your dreamworld take over and do what you have to do in the real world to make it happen. This is attracting abundance and the law of attraction at work.

It's that simple.

I only needed five dollars to play scratch lotto and I didn't even know where I was going to get it after I decided to play different ones every ten days, yet out of the blue, I did. My faith was kinda shaky and my doubts even appeared in my visualization as wrought iron bars blocking me from my garden but I recognised where it was coming from. Nothing is going to stop me now.

The first article to jump out at me when I opened my mail from Evolution Ezine was Create a Vision for Your Dream Life by Dr. Joe Rubino. It provides you with a blueprint to follow to create the best life for yourself. Coincidences like that still catch me off-guard sometimes.

I have deliberately not recopied the entire article because I really want you to go to Evolution Ezine , where you will find the rest of Joe's article, as well as information to enrich and empower you on on your own spiritual evolutionary path.

This is the kind of  stuff miracles are made of - every good little thing that happens - are all part of what I call everyday spirituality.

Get on Board!

Dreams do come true. However, if your self-image is tarnished, your expectations of participating in all the great things that life has to offer are likely suffering as well. Perhaps, low self-esteem’s greatest cost is the resulting resignation it fosters. We die inside a little more each day. Before we realize what is happening, we have sold out our dreams for being all we can be, having those things we deserve and living a life fueled by our passions.

We get what we expect. If we expect that our lives will be marked by rich relationships, abundance, fun and adventure, we will generate an intention to make it so.

Our intention will create a drive within us to accomplish those actions necessary to manifest our vision.

Likewise, if low self-esteem results in anticipation of pain, loneliness, suffering, struggle, broken relationships and poverty, we will see these results in our world.
We unintentionally sabotage our efforts at achieving those things we want most because we do not believe we are worthy of receiving them. Every time things begin to look up, an invisible self-defeating inner thermostat kicks in, ensuring our low expectations become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

The good news is that you can retrain your thoughts and intentions to manifest what you want to have appear. Train your mind to become an ally in your quest for high self-esteem by creating a vision that honors your values, aligns with your passions and encompasses the qualities you are committed to fostering.

This new and empowering vision will replace the current dim vision that is neither serving your magnificence nor fueling your self-esteem.

Take an 8-ounce glass filled with coffee. This represents your low self-esteem. It is murky, dark and does not transmit light. Now take a large pitcher of crystal clear water. This represents your new empowering vision. Pour the water from the pitcher into the glass. The water from the pitcher flows into the glass, causing the glass to overflow.

The first few ounces have little obvious effect on the color of the liquid in the glass. However, as you add more pure water, the content of the glass gets lighter and lighter. By the time you have poured the entire pitcher out into the glass, you will notice all discolored liquid is gone and only pure, translucent water remains.

The same holds true with regard to your mind. As you replace cynical, self-defeating thoughts that crush your self-esteem with a positive, empowering vision that feeds your magnificence, the power of the new thoughts eventually replace the old.

This elevates your esteem and dilutes the thoughts that previously consumed your attention. The power in realizing this transformation comes from the magnitude of new positive energy that far surpasses the old negative force.

To mold your new life vision, emclose your eyes and imagine that a genie has just appeared before you. This genie has offered to grant your every wish, provided you have the courage to envision it, believe it will happen and pursue it.

In order to create this vision, you need to temporarily suspend any self-defeating thoughts that you will only have in your life what you have always had. The past does not need to be a harbinger of the future.

Keep in mind that we will be developing a specific plan of action to address the question, “What exactly will it take to manifest this vision?”

So, create your dream vision with the expectation that we will be designing a plan to bring each aspect of it into reality.

Let’s start by revisiting what values your vision will honor. These will form the fabric that will weave throughout your vision. Next, review the qualities you previously recorded that you will enhance and further develop. These qualities will speak to who you are being as you construct your dream life. And lastly, make a list of your passions.

These are those things you love to do and would gladly look forward to doing every day for the next 50 years. Your passions make life worthwhile.

Think of this vision as a movie script you will watch play out before you on the silver screen as you take your seat in the theater featuring your life story. Write your vision in first person and present tense as if you are describing a scene from the movie as it happens.

Create a vivid mental image with as much detail as possible to bring your vision to life. Utilize all your senses in describing it — sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. See your vision as an already accomplished reality in the present, not merely as something you want or hope to have happen.

If you construct your vision as something you hope to have, the wanting, desiring and not having of it will manifest instead of the realization of the vision itself.

And if that doesn't give you a kick, here is the beginning excerpt of Joe's own vision for his future, as an example. If he can do that and in such detail, so can you and I:

It is September 21, 2016. My wife, Janice, and I are celebrating my 60th birthday at our winter estate in Hana, on the island of Maui, Hawaii, by hosting a party attended by a thousand of our closest friends. Our waterfront property spans several acres marked by waterfalls and lush greenery, home to hundreds of magnificent tropical birds. All our family and the close friends we’ve made over the past 40 years are here. Our friends look to our Hawaiian home as a place for them to relax, rest and recharge their bodies, minds and souls. Our doors are always open. We enjoy each other’s company all year long during their frequent visits. We divide our time between our winter home in Maui and our spring, summer and autumn homes in the scenic White Mountains of New Hampshire and the wonderful woods of rural Massachusetts.

Our lives have become totally devoted to contributing to others and discovering more about reaching our personal magnificence. Our company, The Center For Personal Reinvention, has impacted more than 20 million people to live rewarding lives based on choice, contribution and empowerment. People hold the center as one of the foremost organizations in the world that supports people to live lives that work optimally, in peace, harmony and happiness. 5 Water Rituals to Bless your Life

Water has been used ceremoniously since the beginning of time. Without water, there is no life. Beyond its physical necessity, it has wonderful spiritual and healing gifts. You don't have to be affiliated with a religion or spiritual group to experience the purifying or blessing benefits. Here are 5 Water Rituals you can use in your everyday life.

1. Bless Your Water

Intention, thought and feeling are the most powerful ways to do this. Send some love and gratitude into your water, or imagine light flowing into it, perhaps from your hands, or from the Divine, asking any higher beings you feel connected to bless the water also. Some people place positive word stickers on their water bottles, or symbols and geometric shapes.

You radiate more power than a sticker, so I recommend just taking a few moments to send into the water whatever quality you want to enhance and integrate more into your life. Perhaps that's peace, love, confidence, joy, etc. You may want to use your hands in the process, or just visualize imagery, words, or feelings, floating into the water, for example.  Obviously use purified water or Spring water for a process like this.

2. Enhance Your Drinking Water

As well as the above, and making sure you drink Spring or purified filtered water, you can physically bless your drinking water too, such as by placing a cleansed crystal (take it out before drinking so you don't swallow it!) to radiate an energy quality, flower petals, fresh lemon, orange, mint or cucumber, or a drop or two of an essential oil like Lavender to give it a hint of energy that you feel will serve you at a given time.

3. Chakra Water Technique

Lie down and place a glass of water on your solar plexus (which is approximately 1-2 inches or so above your belly button). It doesn't need to be full to the bring and do your best to lie still not to spill it. Now imagine flowing out of your solar plexus any negative emotions you may be carrying, such as fear, pain, anger, rage, hurt, jealousy, resentment, or whatever flows out of this area that doesn't feel good, whether you have a name for it or not.

Once you have done so, pour out the water- NOT onto any plants though! Flush it down the toilet or sink.

Then fill a glass with fresh new water and place glass again on your solar plexus chakra OR heart chakra (roughly center of sternum bone). Do whichever you feel intuitively most drawn to do.

This time send positive feelings and thoughts into the water. Imagine them flowing from your solar plexus, perhaps as light also, or just feeling the feelings, or whatever works for you. Try to really get in touch with the positive emotions and send them into the water - your love, joy, confidence, peace or whatever emotions you would like to enhance and experience more of in your life at this time.

Now drink this second glass of water and integrate the energy of all those positive feelings.

4. Water Energy Shower

Whether physically dirty or not, use water in a shower to cleanse yourself energetically and wash your aura. I find it very powerful in doing so, and sometimes have the shower pointing away from my body to areas of my aura to wash it clean. It's very effective whether you personally are aware of it or not. This helps wash away any energy debris at the end of your day, for example.

5. Water Cleansing with Visualization

You can visualize while washing - whether your hands, dishes, in the shower, etc. and imagine or sense any negativity or unwanted energy/thoughts/feelings/stressful situations flowing down the drain.

You can also do visualization exercises without using physical water, like standing under a waterfall or in a stream, or in the ocean and imagining the water cleansing away anything you want to release, intending it wash away anything inappropriate to your consciousness.

The "Waterfall of Light" and "Elemental Bath" exercises in the Matrix Shift also use the element of water etherically which is very powerful.

Love and joy,

Living a Spiritual Life - Remember Who We Really Are

Madisyn Taylor's Exploring the Soul- Living a Spiritual Life is about what I call everyday spirituality. Finding out who you really are by going within, tapping into that inner stillness to get the answers you seek. They are all there.

Nowhere can man find a quieter or more untroubled retreat than in his own soul.

Remembering who we really are is the first step in awakening to our spiritual path.

Throughout the journey from birth to death, many people choose to question life, strive for improvement, seek out knowledge, and search for the divine. Simply put, this is the essence of spirituality.

One’s spiritual practice can take on many forms, because embracing the spiritual is a very personal pursuit. While many people do relate their spirituality to a God or Goddess, this quest for the divine, or oneness with the universe, always springs from within.

It doesn’t matter where you find your spiritual path. We are all fundamentally spiritual beings and the essence of that lies in knowing one’s true self and finding a peace that comes from within rather than the outside world. It is in remembering this that we awaken to our personal path.

The spiritual path springs forth from a daily routine that reaffirms our personal connection with a purpose or a way of life. Practicing compassion, gratitude, appreciation, forgiveness, generosity, meditation, and taking care of one’s wellbeing can all be a part of one’s spiritual life.

If you are new to exploring your personal spirituality, remember that this is a process. You may want to spend a few moments each day giving yourself a spiritual gift.

Try a new form of meditation, visit a sanctuary, or explore a specific deity.

Accepting the importance of spirituality can be a healthy decision, because a spiritual practice tends to include habits that promote healthy living.

Take the time to carefully determine the action, thought, and ritual that most speaks to your soul. Remember that your most profound spiritual experiences may also come from the simple intricacies that make up your life. See the interconnectedness of all things.

As you explore your “inner work,” you will be walking your spiritual path and feeling your oneness with the universe.
