12 Riches of Life - Pay it Forward

AddThis Social Bookmark Button
Best Blogger Tips
A superb exercise - Call to Action, from Napoleon Hill Foundation World Learning Centre on mastering your thoughts to focus on your desire, have faith and get what you desire, feel rich in having it, then paying it forward to help others also lift themselves up to attain their own goals - just as you did.

A surprisingly tough exercise which takes a lot of thought and reflection, work and soul searching. For those of you who are ready and decide to do the Work, it is immensely rewarding when you are able to list five examples of each of the twelve riches that you value most in life.

After that all you gotta do is... Share It!
Action Assignment #11:
Review the 12 Riches of Life that Napoleon Hill lists below.
In your notebook, find five examples for each of the twelve riches in your own life. By doing this, you are unearthing your personal treasure that already exists in your life even if it has been buried or hidden for a time.

Next, using the same 12 Riches of Life, indicate how you are going to bring this richness into someone else’s life.

As you acknowledge your gifts, and then decide to help others attain these very same gifts, you are bestowing upon yourself a double blessing. By helping others you also expand your range of power, and simultaneously that bestows a blessing on you that makes you happy.

Finally, do it now. Once completed, the incurred blessings will be priceless!

Napoleon Hill’s Twelve Riches of Life

1. A Positive Mental Attitude
2. Sound Physical Health
3. Harmony in Human Relationships
4. Freedom from Fear
5. The Hope of Achievement
6. The Capacity for Faith
7. Willingness to Share One’s Blessings
8. A Labor of Love
9. An Open Mind on All Subjects
10. Self-Discipline
11. The Capacity to Understand People
12. Financial Security

We can become complete masters of ourselves, if we so desire. The main thought to bear in mind is first to gain the knowledge, and secondly to apply it.

Take Ownership of your Thoughts - Master them!

AddThis Social Bookmark Button
Best Blogger Tips
I'VE LINKED a few Booster posts to spring you to the next level that I wrote a while back providing other resources to help you achieve a stressless state of being. Re-acting to another person's negativity is simply a knee-jerk stress re-action that you feel but many times do not acknowledge. That's wrong.

START MAKING it a practise to know how you feel (emotional) and what you feel (physical as in tight gut=tense) at different times of the day. Please tune in to your body's signals. It never ever leads you wrong. Once you know "what's up" with you, you are able to manage your actions and you will not take you by surprise or feel out of control. Being the authentic you takes work but would you have it any other way?
SOMETIMES YOU believe life sucks but as I was reminded recently, when you have that kind of shit in your mind you attract, yes you got it, shitty people who are attracted to your vibrational energy (without knowing why) and they are very happy to just spread the crap all over you. You, yes YOU, called it to you!

WE ARE ALL living stress-filled lives and we have got to get off of the crazy merry go-round and it starts by taking some quiet time for yourself, every day, to master your monkey mind.

When we take ownership of our thoughts we are less likely to project our issues or disowned qualities onto others. ~Madisyn Taylor
THE KEY TO the power of allowing is to allow people to be themselves. Not always charming and as long as they don't step on you, as stinky as some may be, it's okay. But here's the thing, you are also responsible for drawing the line with anyone who goes beyond what is acceptable to you.

AS MADISYN TAYLOR suggests below you can quite easily visualise a protective shield to block another person's negative energy. It is that easy.  Do remember that it is your thoughts that draw people and their energy, negative or positive to you. The more you master your thoughts - quieting the mind with meditation is the only way this can be achieved - the smoother your life journey will be.

A GREAT WAY I have discovered to short-circuit unhappy people is to deliberately look for the positive aspects of others. When you start paying attention to another's positive side, what bugs you about them takes a back seat and sometimes what we find is so surprising. They don't change of course but your thoughts about them do and that makes a world of difference. Try it.

And by the way, don't get too tied up on the word "meditation". Just walking in nature (without ipod, ipad, tablet or other distractions), singing, dancing, etc. are all forms of meditation as well. Find what's right for you.
WHILE WE CAN try to avoid people we know who engage in projecting their “stuff” onto others, we can’t always steer clear of such encounters. We can, however, deflect some projections through mindfulness and meditation.

A USEFUL visualization tool is to imagine wrapping ourselves in a protective light everyday. At other times, we may have to put up a protective shield when we feel a projection coming our way, reminding ourselves that someone else’s issues are not ours.

ALTHOUGH IT'S difficult not to react when we are the recipient of a projection, it is a good idea to try to remain calm and let the other person know if they are being unreasonable and disrespectful. We all know that it’s not fun to be dumped on. Likewise, we should be mindful that we don’t take our own frustrations out on others.

WHEN WE TAKE ownership of our thoughts, motivations, desires, and feelings, we are less likely to project our issues or disowned qualities onto others. Read the rest of Madisyn's article.

Source of Power - The Manner You React to Circumstances in your Mind

Best Blogger Tips
Source of Power by Napoleon Hill

You will observe that neither success nor failure is the result of luck or chance. I warn you, before you read further, that the knowledge you are about to receive will forever deprive you of the privilege of resorting to alibis to explain away your failures.

I warn you, too, that you will never again be privileged to say truthfully that life never gave you an opportunity, for you will know definitely that as long as you have the right to form and express your own thoughts you have the potential power with which to change the circumstances of your life to whatever you wish them to be.

If your life is not what you wish it to be, you can truthfully say that you drifted into your present unhappy condition through the irresistible force of Cosmic Habit-force, but you cannot stop there because you shall know presently that time and Definiteness of Purpose, backed by Cosmic Habit-force, can give you rebirth no matter who you are or what may be your circumstances.

If you don't like the life you live then change your thoughts. Bob Proctor

You may be in prison, without friends or money, with a life sentence hanging over you, but you can walk through the front gate and back to the outside world a free man, if you adapt yourself to this force in the proper manner. How do I know this can be done? Because it has been done before. Because your common sense will tell you that it can be done once you understand the working principle and catch the full significance of its relationship to time and Definiteness of Purpose.

You are going to make another outstanding discovery in connection with this force. You are going to learn that “every failure brings with it the seed of an equivalent advantage.” You are going to discover, beyond any room for doubt, that every experience, every circumstance of your life is a potential stepping stone or a stumbling block, due entirely to the manner in which you react to the circumstance in your own mind.

Positive Habits Develop Due to Right Thinking

AddThis Social Bookmark Button
Best Blogger Tips

Dr. Hill reminds us that habits are first cobwebs than cables. Habits begin with thought. Positive habits develop due to right thinking and negative habits develop due to wrong thinking. By using self-discipline right now, we can control any negativity that might be seeping into our consciousness.
As any good gardener will tell you, the best time to weed is when the plants are young and easily uprooted. Left untended, our garden will soon be overrun with weeds and produce little that is eatable.
When our mind garden is weed free, it is a good time to acknowledge this positive frame of mind and continue to work toward expanding this awareness. One way to do this is to become a “good-finder.” By focusing on the positive rather than the negative, the formation of good habits is occurring. By looking for something to praise rather than something to complain about we will soon find more riches arriving in abundance. By uncovering previously hidden riches we are now capable of finding even more and bringing them home to harvest.
This is the master key in creating a true millionaire’s lifestyle. No amount of money in the world can buy you the joy and happiness you will accumulate when you think positively and cultivate the habit of right thinking.
Remember, our thoughts shape our world and, in turn, shape our earthly destiny. If we choose the right road rather than the wrong one, not only will we arrive earlier than most but we will arrive in a better frame of mind. Think positively.
Be Your Very Best Always,

FOOD FOR THOUGHT - Never be controlled by the mind of another

Control your own mind, and you may never be controlled by the mind of another.

The mind is the most powerful weapon known to man. It simply cannot be controlled or contained by an outside force, however formidable that force may at first appear.
Throughout history, tyrants have tried to control those who opposed them, but eventually these rulers discovered the power of the imagination was far greater than the threat of the sword.

Words Can Never Harm Me - Is that true, Really?

AddThis Social Bookmark Button
Best Blogger Tips
Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never harm me. This is a popular saying in the Caribbean and we learn it as children.

We human beings are thoughtless people at times and we tend to take things and people for granted then forget about them and their feelings in the heat of an argument.

That's when we throw those verbal sticks and stones, and man do they hurt!

Giving attention to your problems, gives you more problems. ~Stefan Shuem
You may have an immediate knee-jerk rejection because you know what he or she said can't possibly be true but it sometimes is. The only way to enjoy any relationship is to allow those around you - adults and children - to be who they are while you work on yourself.

Using myself as an example, when I finally understood that I started laughing. You see, all the unconscious, repetitive thoughts where I kept beating myself down was the problem. Mine, and yours too.

Little things like "I hate my body", "I am so fat", "my legs are flabby and ugly", "why do I bother, nothing is working for me" and that kind of crap.

Never react emotionally to criticism. Analyze yourself to determine whether it is justified. If it is, correct yourself. Otherwise, go on about your business. ~Norman Vincent Peale

While I was focusing on "I hate myself" a woman threw a "fat" comment my way. I was sending off that vibration and she "caught" it.

She called me a butterball not in a mean way but it made me pause. I tested and tasted it so see how I really felt. I felt a slight twinge and that is when I had my AHA! moment.

I intuitively understood that it was my opinion about myself and my fat arse that was the problem. I smiled, then I laughed. It was really great!

It also helped tremendously that I had been listening to a fabulous shamanic healing that morning by Shaman Stefan Shuem of Shuemsoulexperience. It must have shifted something that freed me to react by laughing.

My advice is make time for yourself. Meditate. Reconnect with that inner spaciousness within you. That is where you will find all your answers.

The bottom line is words can never harm you when you are solidly grounded in who you are. In other words, when you  like yourself just fine, warts and all.

Change your Thought, Your Reality must Follow

AddThis Social Bookmark Button
Best Blogger Tips
The Law of Attraction is responding to your thought, not to your current reality. When you change the thought, your reality must follow suit. If things are going well for you, then focusing upon what is happening now will cause the well-being to continue, but if there are things happening now that are not pleasing, you must find a way of taking your attention away from those unwanted things.

You have the ability to quickly change your patterns of thought, and eventually… your life experience.

Take 15 minutes daily, thinking of pleasant scenarios regarding your body, with the sole intent of enjoying your body and appreciating its strength and stamina and flexibility and beauty. When you visualize for the joy of visualizing rather than with the intention of correcting some deficiency, your thoughts are more pure and, therefore, more powerful. When you visualize to overcome something that is wrong, your thoughts are diluted with the "lackful" side of the equation. In time, your physical condition will acquiesce to your dominant thoughts.

Choose better feeling thoughts...now

AddThis Social Bookmark Button
Best Blogger Tips
The old year is coming to a close folks and I'm posting a suggestion from Abraham-Hicks about choosing better feeling thoughts to not only feel better but have a more optimistic, positive and hopeful vibe to begin a new life and take that into the new year.
By choosing better-feeling thoughts and by speaking more of what you do want and less of what you do not want, you will gently tune yourself to the vibrational frequency of your Broader Perspective.
To see your world through the eyes of Source is truly the most spectacular view of life, for from that vibrational vantage point, you are in alignment with—and therefore in the process of attracting—only what you would consider to be the very best of your world.

Freedom of the Mind is Priceless

Mastering your thoughts and living by what you know to be true is probably the hardest feat of all. It takes courage and strength of character and formidable perseverance against huge odds, namely, your parents, teachers, friends, mates, lovers, colleagues and neighbours believe and skating along to keep the peace.

That is a tough road to hoe and worth it. Get your mind right and live the best you can by your rules is what life is all about. That's my food for thought today.

"Live free, even if your body is chained, live free, live." He touched his skull with a palsied hand. "This is the place where no man can chain you. This is the place where there are no walls. And maybe that's the hardest lesson to learn, Mikhail."

FOOD FOR THOUGHT - How Powerful is the Mind of Man?

AddThis Social Bookmark Button
Best Blogger Tips
The Power of Thought

Man is the only creature on earth with the power of self-determination, the right to choose what his thoughts and actions will be.
Animals of a lower order are governed by six inherent habits and instincts and do not possess the power to understand situations, except in the simplest acts of existence such as detecting the presence of food by its smell, or finding a way out of a maze by bumping their heads against a wall until an opening is found.

The distinguishing characteristic of the human species is its ability to think.

Man possesses one thing over which he has the inherent, absolute right of control, and that is his mental attitude. The very idea of man's having absolute control over his thoughts is tremendous. It shows unmistakably a close relationship between the mind of man and Infinite Intelligence.

The implications of this simple statement of fact are awe-inspiring. Management of the mind is the key to both the power of our own subconscious mind, and the power of Infinite Intelligence.

In the final analysis it means that any plan or purpose which man can conceive in his conscious mind, he can fulfill, either to his benefit, edification, improvement and joy, or to his misery, degradation and ultimate destruction.

Kill the Beast in Your Subconscious and Free Yourself

AddThis Social Bookmark Button
Best Blogger Tips
I finally saw the movie Inception - a story about ensuring your thoughts are not stolen and used against you particularly when you are asleep.

It was an excellent movie however, I want to talk about a deeper message that I gained from it. That was lots of food for thought that required a long, slow digestion.

Thought projection and interception

First off, let me assure you that your thoughts are intercepted when you are awake more than you realise. It happens all the time.

You project your thoughts and intentions unconsciously and any astute observer in a heightened state of awareness can read you like the proverbial open book.

Think of parents/caregivers who can look at their child and know when they are up to some mischief.

We humans operate on emotions after all and that is the connection we make and share that allows us to be "read" and vice versa.

Making an intuitive leap

You have been in situations where you make an intuitive leap with a boss, co-worker, friend just from their body language often betrayed by expression and speech. Sometimes, you even know what they are going to say before they say it, right.

The basis of the movie is using drugs to render themselves and their victims unconscious and have a controller i.e. someone trusted to watch over the bodies while in that state to wake them in case of danger.

The bad guy/good guy's (DiCaprio) nemesis in the movie is his wife, and while he is up to his crooked neck "down under", she keeps intruding into his "reality". She was already doing so in his waking life and that terrified him so imagine how he must feel when he believes he is in control in the dream world he created to trick his prey, only to find himself as a victim.

It is that very powerful emotion - fear - that gives her the hook she needs to become a powerhouse in his dream world.

Powerful negative emotions

He feels guilty about her death and those destructive feelings binds him to her. Does that ring any bells with you? Bet it does...

Emotions are both powerful, life-giving and soul-destroying elements when the are negative and out of control. It is up to you to take control of your thoughts and emotions and ensure that no one uses them to manipulate you.

Burgeoning awareness
When your awareness begins to burgeon like a pretty Spring bud, you begin to notice your emotions and those of others. You also become aware of their motivations (which betrays their thought processes) and it is entirely up to you to either make a pre-emptive strike by bringing up the sticky issue, if it is important to you and clear the air or letting it play out.

If  you let it play out be aware that it is the other person's problem.

Keep in mind at all times that you alone are responsible for the way you feel, no one else.

Mental chatter and it's destructive power
We all get so caught up in our noisy mental chatter and feelings that we forget what is real and important to us that is what happened to our protagonist (DiCaprio) in his latest criminal foray into his latest target's mind which by the way, feels like a dream to the unaware person living the experience.

He forgot that his wife was dead despite the destruction she created in the subconscious world where the lived drugged out for a long time.

Lucidity
What he did not understand was that it was his feelings that were empowering her to create additional mayhem which almost destroyed. If that had happened, he would have died in the real world. In other words, he would not wake up from the drug-induced dream.

He survived and the destruction ended "down-under" when he was reminded that she was not real because she was already dead in the real world (she had committed suicide years before).

That reminder enabled him to kill her in his subsconscious and thus free himself of his guilt and the resulting pain.

From that moment on his real life and living began.

Begin living your real life as it is today. Kill the beast in your subconscous and free yourself. Start living now!

Resistance is futile in evolution
At times, particularly when you have reached a particular stage of your evolution, the soul journey begins and it is exquisitely painful but let me tell you right now, resistance is futile.

You will come out on the other side changed forever and will not recognise yourself and that is why you are here - to live and experience and evolve and be who you are. After all life is for living.

You are in charge at all times of your thoughts and the emotions that accompany them. Own them. Start acting and stop re-acting and watch your life blossom.

Namaste!

FOOD FOR THOUGHT - Choose To Change Your Mind

Best Blogger Tips
It is time to Be The Change people. It starts with me, how about you.

I had a startling realisation just now about all that lovely money that I thought I always wanted to make and it surprised me.

I thought for the past fifteen years that I had to make it i.e. become stinking rich as the saying goes and it is only in this past two weeks I realise that 1) that adjective "stinking" is very negative, 2) I love feeling wealthy because money has no smell, and 3) I had it, I lost it and thought I had to keep striving again to get it back.

Yet this word "striving" also connotates negativity. Plus I kept feeling irritated whenever I would receive mail about making more money only to realise today that I find such feelings connected about all this marketing strategies very tiring.

So what does that signify for the wealthy lifestyle I no longer enjoy and want to experience again? I have no idea but I feel relieved and nervous at the same time At the same timeit is a great way to begin 2012 by figuring out what I really do want in my life.

On the heels of that aha! moment came the following quote from A Course In Miracles which I find very apt indeed. Check out the hardcover edition on Amazon.

"Seek not to change the world, but choose to change your mind about the world. What you see reflects your thinking. And your thinking but reflects your choice of what you want to see."

Your abundance or lack of it in your experience has nothing to do with what anybody else is doing or having. It has only to do with your perspective. It has only to do with your offering of thought. 2 Simple, Effective Techniques to Reduce Stress-Producing Acid and Feel More Alive

AddThis Social Bookmark Button
Best Blogger Tips
Dice for various games, especially for rolepla...
Role-playing dice
Stress is a killer; we all know that and science can now prove it – never mind the therapists, Naturopaths, healers, etc. who have been saying this for decades.

It is a pet peeve of mine that people wait for "scientists" to tell them what is staring them in the face or more aptly, killing them or those close to them.

But moving right along...

The acid produced by continued stress eventually creates a variety of debilitating diseases (many unrecognised by the medical profession) which will kill us off if we do not take preventative measures now.

We also die each day to be "born" anew in every 24-hour sleep and wake cycle. We die to who we were, the hurt and pain, loss, recrimination and resentment, stifling limiting beliefs and seemingly impossible personal circumstance.

What is beautiful is that we have the opportunity to start afresh on a brand new day. Doesn't that stimulate you in some way? Give it some thought.

So many of us feel that our circumstances are so dire that we think dying might be a solution because living is so painful.

Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending. ~Maria Robinson

What you need to understand is that the pain comes from the feeling of loss, of not knowing what to do next or how to do it. That is a crippling feeling of emotional disarray opens the door to fear.

When you allow fear to enter, it is your way of saying "I have no confidence or faith in my abilities". You are also saying, "I feel alone and powerless" which is all well and good if you recognise your state of emotional disarray.

When you feel blindsided by life and deadened by circumstances, the easiest thing to do is to pick up where you left off the previous day and begin the same crapshoot all over again which of course will give you the same results.

Yes, it is insane, no doubt about that yet we keep repeating the cycle over and over again.

Breaking this loop is simple. Stop doing what you have been doing all your life and decide to act based on what you know instead of your typical knee-jerk, emotional re-action. You will get a different result.

You have two simple ways to do proceed and both are very effective.

Osteospermum Flower Power Spider Purple Fly 1690pxImage via WikipediaMeditation puts on the light in an otherwise dark room. It enables us to see through illusions and relax into our true nature. Without meditation, it is like being in a desert without water. We look everywhere for satisfaction, but like a mirage it cannot be seen or found. ~Ed and Deb Shapiro

1.    Meditate for 20 minutes each day (twice a day is better)

Instead of jumping out of bed when you wake each day unless it is to empty your bladder or your bowel (which is a very good thing by the way), stay in bed.

Use this time to centre yourself and establish a solid foundation for your day.

This brand new day gives you a new lease on life. Grasp that opportunity.

» Set your alarm to wake you 20 minutes before your normal time.

» Sit or lie comfortably on your bed and relax. Feel the vitality in your magnificent body from your head right down to your toes. A wonderful mantra to say in your mind as you appreciate your Self "May I be well, May I be happy, May I be filled with loving kindness. May all beings be well, May all beings be happy, May all beings be filled with loving kindness".

Continue until it is time to begin your normal routine.

2.    Breathe your way to better health and vitality

Did you know that when you breathe deeply into your stomach for 3 minutes, you reduce the stress-making acid in your body thereby improving your health? Dr Richard A. Di Censo of Beyond Medicine has lots more to say about this.

I have been practising this deep breathing for years long before I knew about these scientifically proven benefits and I can tell you that you feel lighter and mentally clearer and well-rested after such a session. It literally dissipates the stressed feelings.

» When you feel stressed or when you feel  the pressure building, take 3, 5, or 10 minutes to breathe consciously. Breathe in deeply through your nose lifting your chest and letting the air inflate your belly.

» Hold it for a beat or two then breathe out slowly and continuously - not in one whoosh - through your mouth until your belly feels as if it is touching your back.

A rhythm will gradually build as you continue. This may feel difficult at first because most of us breathe shallowly in our upper chest and rarely expand our lungs.

FlowersImage by Erik van Ravenstein  By the way, another by-product of deep breathing is that it alleviates constipation. Why? Because the in and out belly breathing contracts and relaxes your colon encouraging the passage of body waste.

Start today. It's all worth it!

To subject your emotional nature to critical analysis unleashes its transformative powers. When you feel, see and question this principal part of you, you begin to wonder if there is desire, doubt, hate, anger, lust, fear or anything else that holds you prisoner. Are you really any of this? ~Natasha Dern

You gain clarity of thought and purpose and silence those noisy thoughts that clutter your mind with these two simple and effective techniques. Clear minds equal clear thoughts and well-thought out, unemotional decisions and focussed actions.

And as Ed and Deb Shapiro say in their wonderful article If nothing ever changed there would be no full moon. Powerful tips to practise and live by. Read it!

Increased awareness is the natural result of combined breathwork and meditation and you no longer focus on your limitations and that is a huge. Be stressless people. It is the only way to live!

Incorporate these two practices into your daily life reduces the acid produced by stress, and feel more alive. You might also want to read How to stop absorbing other people's negative emotions. Excellent tips there from Judith Orloff.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT – Your Body is a Pure Reflection of Your Thoughts

FlowerImage by soa2002 via Flickr Have you ever considered that your body reflects what you think about yourself? We forget that not only are we what we eat, we are also what we think and self-hate is the most poisonous substance there is.

I should know I've been there and when I feel really low and look at what's not right in my life, I end up right back there. This is a sweet one from Abraham-Hicks today.

A withdrawal of attention from the unwanted condition is necessary in order to release it from your experience, but it is also necessary to cease the resistant thought that pinched off the Well-Being to begin with. Our guided meditation process helps accomplish both of those things, and it lays the basis of a new-and-improved outlook on life. . . .
You will find it easier to find increasingly better things to think about. It will be easier to see the positive aspects in situations and people. You will find compliments flowing from you, and you will feel appreciation for more things.

Your physical body is truly a reflection of the thoughts you think, but not only of the thoughts you think about your physical body. And so, understanding the Vibrational basis that supports your physical body is important to your maintaining of a healthy physical body. A regimen of physical actions is not enough. Your body is a pure reflection of the balance of the thoughts that you think. –Abraham

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Avoid Falling Under The Influence – Center Yourself

AddThis Social Bookmark Button
Best Blogger Tips
Vulnerable....Vulnerable by Himalayan Trails We can avoid falling under the influence of individuals whose ideas and opinions we disagree with by taking a moment to collect our thoughts when we feel we are being pressured.

It may seem that there are a number of nefarious forces directing the course our lives take. Yet only a few short minutes of focused contemplation in which we examine the roots of the vulnerability we feel can help us reconnect with our core values and remind us that we are and always will be in full control of our destinies.

When we stop to think before we are swept up in the tide of outside beliefs and opinions, we temporarily separate ourselves from the suggestions capable of swaying us and thus our overall susceptibility is diminished. The impressions others make on you today will not be as intense when you center yourself in the midst of challenging interpersonal interactions. DailyOM

Emotional Times On The Eve of Spring: A Sign of Good Things To Come

AddThis Social Bookmark Button
Best Blogger Tips
Lila Krokusse 2009                     Lila Krokusse via WikipediaI have been experiencing some tough emotional times these past two weeks, on the eve of Spring to boot.

On reflection, I had to revise the opening lines of this post and its title when I understood on this first day of Spring that it is a sign of good things to come.

Cannot believe I didn't see that earlier.

Gotta clear out the garbage first in order to make space for the good stuff, right!

I need to let go of everything when this stuff hits the fan which includes my beautiful blog and just stick to the basics of eat, drink a lot of water, toilet stops, sleep, and a lot of meditation. It has taken me a long time to accept this.
Letting go enables me to find the self-knowledge I seek, when I stop fighting it.

Here is a wonderful reminder about controlling our emotions – from Napoleon Hill –  I found it in my mailbox on exiting the “cave” (bedroom) of my self-imposed exile. Synchronicity at work, for sure!

He clearly explains what I was living and what I needed to grasp about an extremely unhappy and tortured soul – my birth mother – who was pursuing with zeal her latest attempt to bring me (me!) under her control once more.

You can't control others’ acts, but you can control your reaction to their acts, and that is what counts most to you.

No one can make you feel any negative emotion -- fear, anger, or inferiority -- without your express permission.

There will always be people who find perverse enjoyment in upsetting others, or who simply play upon your emotions so that they can use you for their own selfish purposes. Whether or not they are successful depends entirely upon you and how you react to their negative behaviors.

When you are forced to deal with such people, recognize from the outset that they are trying to upset you, not because of something you may have done to them, but because of some problem they have with themselves. Tell yourself, "This isn't about me. I will not allow this person to upset me. I am in control of my emotions and my life."

Synchronicity always shows up to say "you are on the right path" and I am so damn grateful to the Universe/Source for that!

I am learning how to let go and allow others to do, say or have whatever they want without letting it get to me and  EFT tapping with Carol Look provided me with five keys.

The five “keys” that cleared my energy blockages and allowed love to reign in my world were:

March 13th at the Reykjavik Botanincal Gardens.
Flowers of Spring (Wikipedia)
1– seeing the energetic invitations as occasions to transform my conflicts into opportunities;

2– admitting my impatience with what is not happening fast enough for me (instead of stifling it) – thus releasing the energy blockage;

3– completely accepting yourself and everything as it is right now;

4– learning how to send love now to my problems – be they people or situations – especially when I/we don’t want to; this is another form of acceptance.

5– learning to fall in love today (with something or someone) that is creating the problem. This is particularly powerful.
Abundance is mine (and yours) by right — I hope you all know that — and I am not just talking about money. We need it but it makes up only a small fraction of abundance!

I am very grateful to Gary Craig, founder of the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).  I would not have made this transformation without it.

It is very important to offer gratitude for what’s good in your life. Remember that!

The outcome of my two week "workshop" on matricidal thoughts, resentment and emotional self-flagellation can be boiled down to this:

~Criticising someone means you are really criticising yourself. You will never get clear of those thorn bushes until you shut up mentally, stand still and stop fighting.

~Going within to stillness and laying down the burdens of your heart mutes the noise. A wonderful silence resounds from which arises the only thing that is important – the beating of your heart pulsing in rhythm with Source.
~When you become one with all that is in the quiet moments between the beats, everything else becomes irrelevant. The more often you retreat to the cathedral of your heart, the less important who says or did what becomes.

~We are all here to learn and trespassing those silently forbidden family barriers erected in childhood and facing and accepting them is essential.

~We are always too close to the issue when it is personal. When you step back, you see with such clarity that you are able to drop the defensive posture because you have nothing to defend yourself against. There never was! The crappy false beliefs embedded in your subconscious were running the show.

~Defensive re-actions fall by the wayside when you then act in line with your soul's desires i.e. with love and integrity in every area of your life.
~Accept responsibility for yourself and your actions — that is all that is required — and contentiousness melts away. The ego does not give up that easily eh, so be prepared for the old nagging thoughts to cross your mind now and again.  Ignore them and they fade away or thinking of something else works just as well.

And I don’t care what anyone says, feelings come before the thought because it is your soul talking. As David Cameron Gikandi says in A Happy Pocket Full of Money, “there is a big difference between emotions and feelings” and you must learn the difference.

If you can remember just one thing from this post, it should be this: Not only does what we resist persist but also, whatever we do that goes against our character and natural generosity hurts us when we resist it.

Think on this today.

Green-veined White on Cuckoo-flower           Image by bbusschots It is of great value for you to give your conscious attention to what you specifically want, otherwise you can be swept up by the influence of that which surrounds you.
You are bombarded by the stimulation of thought. And so, unless you are setting forth the thought that is important to you, you can be stimulated by another's thought that may or may not be important to you. Abraham-Hicks

Pay Attention To The Way You Feel

papier Fleurs en papier by eye of einstein  This is great reminder for me because I forget and get caught up in others emotional crap which is self-defeating.

It is the key to my being present – wise advice I received from my psychotherapist during my suicidal period. I hope it rings a bell with you.

When you are present, you are aware and can handle anything thrown at you, even the kitchen sink!

By paying attention to the way you feel, and then choosing thoughts that feel the very best, you are managing your own vibration, which means you are controlling your own point of attraction -- which means you are creating your own reality.
It's such a wonderful thing to realize that you can create your own reality without sticking your nose in everybody else's, and that the less attention you give to everybody else's reality, the purer your vibration is going to be -- and the more you are going to be pleased with what comes to you.

Take Possession of Your Mind – Feed it Positive, Constructive Thoughts

in my mind            Image by zunardu Thought for today is from Napoleon Hill exhorting us to master our thoughts, take control of our minds, and decide and act to get what we want from life.

I invite you to have a look at the Message on success and stories from his grandson, J.B. Hill; nothing but inspiration.
Take possession of your own mind, and you may soon make life pay off on your terms.

Your mind is unquestionably your most valuable possession. You may lose every material thing you own, but knowledge can never be taken from you. With it, you can earn a new fortune, build a new home, and buy anything you truly desire. No one else can control your thoughts; even the cruelest tyrant cannot force you to think about something you refuse to accept.
When you make a deliberate decision to take control of your mind and feed it positive, constructive thoughts, you are on your way to taking control of your life. The thoughts you allow to dominate your mind will determine what you will get from life. Naphill.org
